Welcome to Edwards Travel, a family-owned Cape Town tourism company dedicated to sharing the beauty, culture, and spirit of South Africa with travelers from around the world.
Founded by Maher Edwards, a passionate tour guide whose journey began in 2010, our company has grown from a personal love of showcasing Cape Town to friends and family into a trusted name in private guided tours and authentic local experiences.
Today, the tradition continues through his daughter, a qualified female tour guide who brings a fresh, welcoming energy and a deep understanding of what makes South Africa truly special and his grandson who qualified in Bcom management science at the university of Stellenbosch who runs day to day operations. Together, our family is proud to offer every visitor a warm introduction to the country we love.

Maher Edwards
My passion for tourism started in 1966 when I showcased my city to friends and family from Gauteng, USA, and Egypt. In 2009, I began assisting with airport transfers during the Soccer World Cup, which led to offering tours. In 2016, I became a fully registered and qualified ‘SA Specialist’ Tour Guide, a member of Professional Tour Guides of South Africa. I love showcasing Cape Town’s points of interest and take pride in being an ‘Ambassador’ for the city. Specializing in diverse activities like Abseiling, Big 5 Safari, Islamic Cultural Tours, Snorkeling, and more. I aim to educate, excite, and create memorable experiences for every visitor.
Lailah Edwards
In 2024, I proudly followed in my father Maher Edwards’ footsteps by becoming a fully qualified and registered Tour Guide. As a woman in the tourism industry, I bring a warm, welcoming perspective and a focus on making every visitor feel at home in Cape Town. My passion lies in connecting people with the city’s diverse cultures, natural beauty, and hidden gems. I enjoy tailoring experiences for solo travelers, groups, and especially women seeking safe, authentic adventures. With Edwards Travel, my mission is to inspire confidence, create meaningful memories, and continue my family’s tradition of showcasing South Africa to the world.

Yusuf Adams
In 2025, I officially joined Edwards Travel as Operations Manager, though my journey with the company began years earlier. Growing up alongside my grandfather, Maher Edwards, I was inspired by his deep passion for tourism and his love for showcasing Cape Town to the world. From a young age, I worked part-time in the business, learning every aspect of what makes a truly memorable travel experience. As a BCom graduate from Stellenbosch University, I now bring fresh ideas, structure, and modern operations to our family-run Cape Town tourism company. My goal is to continue my grandfather’s legacy, combining our tradition of warmth and authenticity with innovation and world-class service for visitors exploring South Africa.
